Jamsha Union Chairman Candidate Md. Abdul Majid, a symbol of public trust in Singair

Abul Hossain:: Md. Abdul Majid, son of the late Md. Chanbar Ali, was born on 16/06/1973 in a respectable Muslim family in Golai village of Jamsha Union, Singair Upazila of Manikganj. A three-time UP member, Jamsha Union Chairman candidate in the upcoming Union Parishad elections, Md. Abdul Majid passed his SSC in 1991 and HSC from Singair Degree College in 1993 and dedicated himself to serving the poor, suffering and hardworking people of Jamsha Union. A shining example of honesty, dedication and public welfare-oriented leadership in grassroots politics, he has been serving Jamsha Union with a good reputation as a public servant by profession for a long time. His sincerity in establishing justice, protecting the rights of innocent people and ensuring the rule of law has made him a trusted person of the common people.

In addition to public service, he is actively involved in the politics of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). For 17 long years, he has been playing an important role in the party’s activities, inspired by the ideals of the founder of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), martyred President Ziaur Rahman. Moreover, he has played an active role as a skilled organizer in the anti-dictatorship movement for the past 17 years. He is currently serving as the Organizing Secretary of Jamsha Union BNP. His role in organizing the organization well, keeping the leaders and activists united at the grassroots level and building close relations with the masses is particularly noteworthy.

Md. Abdul Majid’s specialty is his honesty and social responsibility. He sees politics not as a means of power, but as a great responsibility to serve the people. The main foundation of his political philosophy is to stand by the common people in their happiness and sorrow, to be vocal in achieving their just rights, and to deliver the 31 points announced by Tarique Rahman and the benefits of development to everyone. That is why he has gained wide acceptance as a popular grassroots political leader.

As a candidate for the post of Chairman of Jamsha Union Parishad of Singair Upazila, his goal is very clear – to form a terrorism and drug-free, education-supportive and development-oriented Union Parishad. He believes that to keep the youth away from drugs and crime, it is very important to expand education, develop sports and cultural activities, and create employment opportunities. He dreams of building an enlightened society by improving the environment of educational institutions, supporting poor and talented students, and conducting awareness programs.

In addition, he emphasizes on infrastructural development, development of rural economy, improvement of healthcare quality, and empowerment of women. According to him, the overall development of a Union Parishad is possible only when people of all classes and professions become partners in development. He wants to work with the conviction of building a transparent, accountable and people-friendly Jamsha Union Parishad.

Above all, Md. Abdul Majid is the epitome of an honest, competent and responsible leadership. His skills in public service and his acceptance in the political arena have made him a symbol of hope for the people of Jamsha Union of Singair Upazila. Today, people from all walks of life expect that a peaceful, drug-free and education-rich Union Parishad will be built under his leadership.
