Inauguration of 250 million tree plantation program in Ghior in 5 years

Abul Hossain:: As part of the 250 million tree plantation program in five years of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Tarique Rahman, the tree plantation program was inaugurated in Ghior Upazila of Manikganj.

On Saturday (July 18) afternoon, the chief guest, Manikganj-1 constituency MP SA Jinnah Kabir, inaugurated the program at the Ghior Upazila BNP office in Manikganj. At this time, saplings of different species of trees were distributed among 450 people of the upazila.

The program was presided over by Mir Manikuzzaman Manik, former president of Ghior Upazila BNP.

District Jubo Dal convener Kazi Mostaq Hossain Dipu, Upazila BNP vice-president Md. Abu Kawsar Reza, vice-president Advocate Abdul Alim Khan Monowar, general secretary Kazi Wazed Ali Mr., joint secretary Md. Jane Alam, Organizing Secretary Al Mamun Bhuiyan, Organizing Secretary Mizanur Rahman Khan Kudrat, Upazila Jubo Dal Convener Masudur Rahman Masud, Member Secretary Saif Chanowar, along with leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliates and affiliated organizations.

The speakers at the event said that there is no alternative to massive tree plantation to protect the balance of the environment, combat the adverse effects of climate change, and build a livable Bangladesh for future generations. They called for making the program a success through proper care of the distributed saplings.
