1st founding anniversary of ‘Daily Times of Bangladesh’ celebrated in Lalmonirhat
Lalmonirhat :: The mainstream media outlet “Daily Times of Bangladesh” has completed one year of its successful journey with the commitment to providing true, fair and objective news. On this occasion, the newspaper’s first founding anniversary was celebrated with various colorful events in Lalmonirhat.
The main program of the anniversary began at 11:30 am on Monday at the district LGED auditorium with the recitation of the Holy Quran. After the discussion meeting, the guests cut the anniversary cake along with the invited guests.
The program was presided over by the daily’s Lalmonirhat district correspondent Md. Jamal Badshah and was attended by District Council Administrator AKM Mominul Haque as the chief guest. Former Lalmonirhat Municipality councilor and BNP leader A. Salam was present as the special guest at the program.
The keynote speaker at the event was former General Secretary of the National Press Club and advisor to the Daily Times of Bangladesh, Ilyas Khan. The newspaper’s Managing Editor, Nahid Hasan, as well as local journalists, political figures, representatives of socio-cultural organizations and prominent figures from civil society were also present.
The speakers at the discussion said that in this era of information technology, the responsibility of the media is not limited to publishing news only. The main goal of the news should be to deliver accurate and precise information to the people and play a role in eliminating the inequalities in the society. The speakers wished the “Daily Times of Bangladesh” continued success and called for practicing responsible journalism by maintaining objectivity and professionalism in the coming days.
Representatives of the newspaper said that since its establishment, they have been giving top priority to gaining the trust of readers. They expressed confidence that the newspaper will continue to play a leading role in the future by highlighting issues of public interest, in addition to delivering objective news from all corners of the country quickly.
