The 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards will air live from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on Sept. 26 via NBC and Peacock
Shania Twain hopes to impress you much with her hosting skills at this year’s People’s Choice Country Awards.
On July 12, the country-pop star, 58, was announced as the host of the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards, set to air live from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on Sept. 26 via NBC and Peacock.
“Country has some of the most passionate fans in music and us artists are so lucky to be supported in doing what we love,” said Twain in a statement. “I am honored to host an award show that celebrates these awesome fans.”
The Grammy winner continued, “Get ready for an unforgettable show with lots of big hair, glamour, rhinestones, hats, boots and incredible performances. Giddy up!”
Last year’s PCCAs marked the inaugural ceremony, and Twain received three nominations: the crossover song of 2023 for “UNHEALTHY” with Anne-Marie, the concert tour of 2023 for her Queen of Me Tour and the social country star of 2023.
NBCUniversal Entertainment’s vice president of live events and specials, Jen Neal, said in a statement, “With a proven track record of creating music that stands the test of time, Shania is a beloved member of the country community.”
Neal added, “As we return to the Grand Ole Opry House, she is the perfect person to help us celebrate country’s finest.”
Also on July 12, Twain teamed up with Andrea Bocelli for the collaboration “Da Stanotte in Poi (From This Moment On),” a classical take on her 1998 hit. The new version serves as the first single from Bocelli’s upcoming Duets album, set to feature many high-profile artists singing with the Italian tenor.
Ahead of Twain’s stint at the PCCAs, she’ll return to the stage with three performances at Churchill Park Music Festival in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, on Aug 16, 17 and 18.
She’ll then resume shows at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas from Aug. 23 through Dec. 14 as part of Come on Over: The Las Vegas Residency — All the Hits!
