Abul Hossain:: World Population Day-2026 was celebrated with due dignity in Manikganj. On this occasion, a discussion meeting and award distribution ceremony were organized by the district administration and the district family planning department. Manikganj Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Nazmun Ara Sultana was the chief guest at the program held at the deputy commissioner’s office on Sunday (July 12).
Superintendent of Police Mohammad Sarwar Alam (BPM) and Civil Surgeon Dr. Aifi Ferdous were present as special guests. Zakia Akhter, Deputy Director of the District Family Planning Department, presided over the program. The speakers in the discussion meeting emphasized the sustainable development of the country, population management and utilizing the capabilities of the young population for national development. He also called for strengthening family planning activities and increasing public awareness. Later, prizes were distributed among the winners of various competitions organized on the occasion of World Population Day. Officials from various government and private departments, media personnel and well-wishers were present at the event.
