Jute growers meeting was held in Thakurgaon with the aim of encouraging the farmers to increase the production of jute and jute seeds based on advanced technology, expansion, multi-purpose use of jute products. The rally was organized yesterday in the auditorium of the District Art Academy. Under the chairmanship of District Jute Development Officer Asim Kumar Malakar, Additional District Magistrate Ramakrishna Barman addressed the rally organized by the District Administration and Jute Directorate, Ministry of Textiles and Jute, Thakurgaon under the slogan “Contribution of Jute Industry, Building Smart Bangladesh, Golden Country of Golden Fiber, Bangladesh of the Father of the Nation” , special guests District Training Officer of Agriculture Extension Department Moshammat Shamima Nazneen, Sadar Upazila Chairman Mosharul Islam Sarkar, President of Thakurgaon Press Club Mansoor Ali, District Jute Development Office Assistant Project Director (Coordination) Md. Osman Ali and others. Hundreds of jute farmers of the district and surrounding districts were present on the occasion. Various topics were discussed in the meeting to encourage the farmers to increase the advanced technology based jute and jute seed production, expansion, multipurpose use of jute products.
