It is known that Raipura upazila chairman Laila Kaniz Lucky was in hiding since Chagalka- went viral on social media. He was nowhere to be seen in his office or home or his park. He could not be reached even after calling, and no one could even tell him where he was. Laila Kaniz Laki did not go to office after Eid despite not taking any leave. He last held office two days before Eid-ul-Azha.
The service aspirants said that the chairman was harassed for not doing his office. They alleged that Laila Kaniz Lucky was absent till Wednesday after opening the office after the Eid holidays. At that time, many victims came to the upazila parishad and returned without finding him. They are deprived of service.
Locals say that Laila Kaniz’s father Kafil Uddin Ahmed was a food officer. His daughter Laila Kaniz taught at the government Titumir College but her fortunes changed after she married a revenue official. His wealth has grown by leaps and bounds in the last 15 years. She built these assets on the illegal earnings of her husband, former revenue officer Matiur Rahman. He should not have so much wealth in teaching income or pension money.
