Mymensingh- By introducing uniform service code, the differences between the Rural Electric Board and the Palli Vidut Samiti have been resolved and the employees have held a day-long strike (nine in the morning to five in the afternoon) demanding to make the Palli Vidut Samiti a modern electricity distribution institution by permanentizing the contractually appointed employees.

Officials of the association also said that despite the strike, the three associations of mymensingh Muktagacha, Valuka and Shambhuganj are providing uninterrupted electricity service to about fifteen lakh customers of the district. If their demands are not met, they will go on a tougher agitation.
