Mongla Port Authority stands by the flood victims. An amount equal to one day’s basic salary of all the officers and employees of Mongla Port Authority is deposited in the Relief and Welfare Fund of the Hon’ble Chief Adviser to the Interim Government. On August 25, 2024, one day’s salary of port officials and employees was deposited in Account Name: Chief Adviser’s Relief and Welfare Fund, Sonali Bank Corporate Branch Hon’ble Chief Adviser’s Office Account Number: 0107333004093. Due to severe floods in different districts of the country, this money is given to support the flood affected people and to deal with the ongoing floods.
Rear Admiral Shaheen Rahman, chairman of Mongla Port, said, “I have given one day’s salary to the port officials and employees in the relief and welfare fund of the Honorable Chief Adviser. Also, on August 26, 2024, 19 tons of pure water, food items and medical items will be distributed among 1000 (one thousand) families in flood-affected Feni district and 200 families in Paikgacha of Khulna.
