Akkelpur – Four persons have been fined for consuming brewed liquor at Akkelpur in Joypurhat.
On Wednesday (September 4) in West Amutr area of Akkelpur municipality, under the leadership of Upazila Nibarhi Officer Monjurul Alam, Deputy Inspector Dulal Chandra Pramanik of Narcotics Control Directorate, Joypurhat, was carrying out drug recovery and operation with the help of the allied force. During the operation, Md. Sohail Ali Laskar (35), Md. Mubarak (52), Md. Sahajan Ali (42), Mr. Kartik Rabidas (36) recovered 750 ml of distilled liquor from them.
After the rescue, Upazila Civil Officer and Executive Magistrate (UNO) Monjurul Alam set up a mobile court and fined Md. Sohail Ali Laskar 100 taka and 2 months, Md. Mubarak 100 taka and 1 month, Md. Sahajan Ali 100 taka and 7 days, Mr. Karthik Ravidas 100 taka and 15 days in prison. Imprisonment. All their houses are in Akkelpur municipality.
UNO Monjurul Alam said that the Directorate of Narcotics Control arrested four people while consuming brewed liquor. Later they were fined and sentenced to imprisonment without labor by mobile courts.
