Kushtia Correspondent: Another BNP leader held a press conference against the party leader in Mirpur of Kushtia.
The leaders and activists of Baruipara Union BNP of the upazila held this press conference to demand that the picture of the Agricultural Combined Harvester Association be stopped as a party picture.
The press conference was held at the party office of Mirpur Upazila of Kushtia on Saturday at 11:30 am.
Joint General Secretary of Baruipara Union BNP and President of Mirpur Upazila Combined Agricultural Harvester Association Masudul Haque Khan Masud read the written statement at the press conference.
At the time, he said, during the approval of the Mirpur Upazila Combined Agricultural Harvester Association on July 31, 2023, I exchanged greetings with the then Chairman of the Mirpur Upazila Parishad, Kamarul Arefin, along with all the members of the committee. At that time, the committee published news with pictures in local and national media upon approval. But now my political opponent (General Secretary of Baruipara Union BNP Mukul) is humiliating me by editing it in various ways and circulating it on social media. Also trying to destroy my political image. The image they are using is a completely a political one. I strongly condemn and protest against it. In response to the questions of the journalists in the crowded press conference, Mirpur Municipal BNP General Secretary Ibrahim Ali said that in the past, the controversial Baruipara BNP General Secretary Mukul was not involved in any party activities but used to work under the auspices of Awami League. Even with Mirpur Thana Awami League general secretary and former chairman of Upazila Parishad Kamarul Arefin, Mukul committed various misdemeanors including drinking alcohol.
Baruipara Union BNP president Khandkar Lutfar Rahman and organizational secretary Rezaul Karim Kota spoke on the occasion. Upazila BNP organizing secretary Saidul Haque Mukul, office secretary Marfat Afridi, publicity secretary Billal Hossain, municipal BNP organizing secretary Hafizur Rahman Babu, municipal Juba Dal convener Sangram Khan Zillu and others were present in the press conference.
