M Rezaul Islam, Naogaon- A human chain program was held in Manda of Naogaon to protest against the intention of abolishing the elected public representatives of the Union Parishad by the local government advisor.
This program was held at the crossroads of Prasadpur Bazar organized by the Bangladesh Union Parishad Forum Manda Branch at around 12 noon on Wednesday.
Union Parishad Forum Manda Branch President Principal Abdul Matin Mondal, UP Chairman Naufel Ali Mondal, SM Golam Azam, Mokhleshur Rahman Kamrul, Zaidur Rahman, Tofazzal Hossain addressed the protest rally during the human chain.
Anisur Rahman, Golam Mostafa UP member Jinnatun Necha, Mumtaz Begum Mukti and Aktaruzzaman Bulu, Md Bakul Hossain, Abak Ali etc.
The speakers said that the elected representatives of the Union Parishad work day and night to deliver all kinds of services to the doorsteps of the people. They perform various service duties including signing birth registration, death certificate, inheritance certificate, agricultural loan form. In this situation, if the activities of these people’s representatives are suddenly abolished, the grassroots people will be deprived of services.
After this a memorandum was handed over to Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Laila Anjuman Banu.
