Akkelpur- A Head-On Collision Between An Oil Tanker And A Pickup Van In Akkelpur, Joypurhat, Resulted In The Cabin Of The Pickup Van Being Twisted And Twisted. Fire Service And Civil Defense Personnel Cut Through The Cabin Of The Pickup Van And Pulled Out Three People, Including The Driver, Who Were Trapped In Critical Condition. The Injured Were Admitted To The Upazila Health Complex, But Their Condition Deteriorated And They Were Transferred To Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
The Injured Are Arif Hossain (44) Of Kettarpara Village In Palashbari District Of Gaibandha District, Rafiq (22) Of Shanta Village In Kahalu Upazila Of Bogra And Ujjal Hossain (22) Of Kaigari Village In Shajahanpur Upazila.
According To Eyewitnesses And Fire Service Sources, A Pickup Van Carrying Ice Cream Was Going From Akkelpur. The Pickup Van Suddenly Reached Purnagopinathpur On The Road. At That Time, While Overtaking A Passenger Bus, The Pickup Van Collided Head-On With An Oil Tanker Coming From The Opposite Direction. As A Result, The Cabin Of The Pickup Van Was Twisted And Twisted. Three People Including The Driver Of The Pickup Van Were Trapped In The Cabin. The Oil Tanker Fled At High Speed. On Receiving The Information, Members Of The Fire Service And Civil Defense Rushed To The Spot. They Cut The Cabin Of The Pickup Van And Took Out The Three People Including The Driver From Inside In Serious Condition And Brought Them To The Emergency Department Of The Upazila Health Complex. After Receiving Primary Treatment, They Were Transferred To Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital For Advanced Treatment.
Eyewitness Azad Rahman Said, “I Heard A Loud Noise And Came To The Road And Saw A Head-On Collision Between A Pickup Van And An Oil Tanker. The Cabin Of The Pickup Van Was Twisted And Three People Were Trapped Inside. When The Fire Service And The Police Station Were Informed, They Quickly Arrived And Rescued The Three Injured People.
Abdul Kader, Station Officer-In-Charge Of Akkelpur Fire Service And Civil Defense, Said, “We Immediately Reached The Spot After Receiving The Information About The Accident And Cut Open The Cabin Of The Pickup Van And Rescued Three People With Serious Injuries And Admitted Them To The Emergency Department Of Akkelpur Hospital.”
Mainul Islam, Officer-In-Charge Of The Police Station, Said That After Receiving The Information, The Police Were Immediately Sent To The Spot. After Rescuing The Injured, The Akkelpur-Bogra Road Was Made Suitable For Traffic. So Far, No Party Has Complained To The Police Station. Legal Action Will Be Taken If A Complaint Is Received.
