Akkelpur correspondent- With the theme of ‘Come, change the country, change the world’, the Youth Festival 2025 has begun in Akkelpur, Joypurhat, with the aim of building a new Bangladesh.
Monday (December 30), at 11 am, at the inauguration ceremony of the festival at the Upazila Parishad premises, the chief guest, Upazila Executive Officer Manjurul Alam, inaugurated the festival.
After the inauguration, a colorful procession with drums, horse-drawn carts, farmers carrying plows on their shoulders, and fishermen carrying nets on their shoulders, was taken out around the city at the initiative of the Upazila administration, and then a discussion meeting was held at 12 noon in the Upazila meeting room. In the discussion, the speakers, inspired by the July-August Revolution, emphasized the importance of building a future Bangladesh without discrimination.
At that time, Upazila Executive Officer Manjurul Alam said that various programs including a July Revolution picture exhibition, cultural, sports and debate competitions, and rural fairs have been undertaken across the upazila until February 18 to mark the youth festival.
The program was attended by Upazila Fisheries Officer (Acting) Moshfiqur Rahman, Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mainul Islam, Upazila Additional Agriculture Officer Kamnashis Sarkar, former municipal mayor and BNP leader Alamgir Chowdhury Badsha, Upazila Coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Mahfuz Ahmed, teachers and students of various educational institutions, women of NGOs, representatives of various departments, fishermen, farmers and cultural workers.
