Kushtia – A human chain has been formed under the banner of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and Citizens’ Committee, including the people of Mirpur, to prevent the transfer of UNO.
The human chain was formed in front of the main gate of Mirpur Upazila Parishad in Kushtia on Thursday afternoon. Mizanur Rahman Mizan of EB Club said in the human chain that the transfer of Mirpur Upazila Executive Officer Bibi Karimunnesa should be withdrawn in the interest of keeping Mirpur Upazila free from tender scams, extortion, terrorism, drugs and maintaining normal law and order.
Recently, a group has been spreading misinformation against her by claiming that the monthly meeting of the upazila is a meeting with the Awami League as per government rules. The speakers strongly protested against this.
They drew the attention of the Chief Advisor and Deputy Commissioner that she should be reinstated in Mirpur Upazila immediately. In addition, Mirpur Upazila Executive Officer was strongly protested against the lies at various times under the banner of the people of Mirpur Upazila.
In this context, Mirpur Upazila Executive Officer Bibi Karimunnesa said, in fact, a group has been conspiring against me for a long time. I held a law and order meeting as per government rules, where the chairmen were present. They are calling me an accomplice of tyranny. You see whether I have committed any corruption or irregularities. A group who have been conspiring against me from outside for quite some time.
If I have committed any wrongdoing, irregularity or corruption, then let the authorities take legal action against me. Why ruin my honor and dignity like this on the streets? In fact, I do not know if this is their complaint. If this continues, I will be forced to take legal action against them or the main culprit.
