Lalmonirhat- Police have recovered the body of an unidentified headless woman from a corn field in Lalmonirhat Phulkach.
The body was found lying in a corn field in Baman Para village of Phulkach No. 2, Mogolhat Union, Sadar Upazila on Wednesday afternoon, said Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Nur Nabi.
Locals believe that the body could be from another area. However, the owner of the corn field, Shafiqul Islam, said, “I went to see if the corn field needed watering. Later, I saw the headless woman’s body lying in the field. I got scared and went home and informed Ward No. 7 member Asadul Haque. Later, he and other people went there and informed the police.
Police said that the place is a deserted area and there are corn fields around it, and there are no houses nearby. The body of an unidentified headless woman was found in the middle of a corn field. She was about 25-30 years old, wearing a black burqa, a red shirt, green pajamas with a scarf, a pair of shoes named Razia Suj, a pair of sandals belonging to the accused and a monkey hat were found next to the body. However, looking at the body, it is believed that the murder could have been committed early this morning or in the morning.
Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nur Nabi confirmed the matter and said that the DB and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police are also working in the field to unravel the mystery of the murder and identify the body.
The police could not identify the woman’s body till the time of writing this report at 5 pm.
