Akkelpur – Youth dreams, dreams. To protect the youth from social degradation, various activities have been conducted in a festive atmosphere for 52 days in Akkelpur, Joypurhat during the Youth Festival. The Upazila Administration has published those activities in the form of a book.
This year’s Youth Festival has been celebrated with the aim of building a new Bangladesh with the theme ‘Come change the country, change the world’. The Upazila Administration has organized the publication of this book to make the activities memorable and to inspire the youth of this festival.
On Saturday afternoon, Deputy Commissioner Afroza Akhter Chowdhury unveiled the cover of the book ‘Durbar Tarunya’ in the Upazila Parishad meeting room. Upazila Executive Officer Manjurul Alam presided over it. Among others, Upazila BNP President Kamruzzaman Kamal, former municipal mayor and BNP leader Alamgir Chowdhury Badsha, and District Jamaat Assistant Secretary Rashedul Alam Sabuj spoke. The book was edited by Upazila Academic Supervisor Mir Mohammad Ali.
Regarding the publication of the book, Upazila Executive Officer Manjurul Alam said, “This time, a colorful program was taken up in this upazila for 52 days on the occasion of the Youth Festival. That program has been prepared in the form of a book in 112 pages and dedicated to the young society. In this, the youth of this upazila have participated enthusiastically in various activities including education, health, and sports. This is our effort to remember their good deeds.”
Deputy Commissioner Afroza Akhter Chowdhury said, “Youth means the enthusiasm to do something new and the strong desire for change. Everyone has participated and worked with all their heart in this festival. I hope that the preservation of their activities and their publication in the form of a book will help the youth move forward further. The book will be a symbol of encouragement in the future.”
He further said that today’s youth are addicted to mobile phones and drugs. The people should be aware. Only then can the social system be changed. If we want to change our lives, we have to take the social system forward. Only then can we establish ourselves as successful citizens. We have to change the country and at the same time, we have to change ourselves.
