Md. Sanaullah Riyad, Barguna :: The Pure Food Court and Bangladesh Safe Food Authority have taken to the field to ensure safe food for all the people of the country. Mobile safe food laboratories are implementing their activities by visiting each district to check the quality of food from the grassroots to the food production centers.
In continuation of this, on the initiative of the Barguna District Safe Food Authority and organized by the Pure Food Court, 24 food samples were collected from various traders in Barguna city on Monday (April 28) at around 1 pm on the premises of the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court and tested in the mobile laboratory.
The 24 food samples included turmeric powder-6, chili powder-5, honey-1, ghee-1, milk-1, bread-4 and ice cream-1. These samples were tested in the mobile food laboratory in the presence of the concerned persons and traders.
Present at the laboratory were – Senior Judicial Magistrate of the Barguna Chief Judicial Magistrate Court and Magistrate S, M, Shariat Ullah of the Pure Food Court.
At this time, Safe Food Officer of the Barguna District Safe Food Authority Md. Abu Raihan told the traders and the public – this mobile laboratory will come to Barguna once a month to ensure safe food for all the people of Barguna district. If any chemical or other harmful substance is found after testing the food samples collected in the laboratory, then legal action will be taken against the seller and producer of the food from which the samples were collected.
