Dewan Tasadduk Raza, Sunamganj :: A district-level regional workshop was held in Shantiganj, Sunamganj under the Infrastructure Development Project to increase the capacity and production of existing government fish farms in the fiscal year 2024-25.
The workshop was organized by the District Fisheries Department at the FIVDB conference room in Shantiganj on Wednesday (May 28) at 11 am.
The workshop was attended by the chief guest, Sylhet Divisional Director of the Department of Fisheries Md. Asadul Baki. The special guests were the Deputy Director of the Department of Fisheries Md. Ashrafuzzaman and Senior Assistant Director Al-Minan-Noor. The main paper was presented by the Project Manager of this project Md. Mashiur Rahman. The chairman was Sunamganj District Fisheries Officer Md. Shamsul Karim. The moderator was Dharmapasha Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Mahmudur Rahman. The welcome speech was delivered by Sunamganj Sadar Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Prashant Dey. The activities of Sunamganj district were presented by Shantiganj Carp Hatchery Officer Md. Moniruzzaman.
The chief guest in his speech highlighted the objectives, goals and prospects of the project and answered various questions of the fish farmers and fishermen present. He said that through this project, modernization of government farms, expansion of advanced technology and production of improved varieties of fish will be ensured.
Various fishermen, farmers and cultivators of the district participated in the workshop. The speakers said that the implementation of this project will not only increase fish production, but also benefit the farmers and make an important contribution to the country’s economy
