Kushtia Correspondent:: A press conference was held in Mirpur on behalf of the Upazila and Municipal BNP against the fabricated, baseless, purposefully motivated and false information provided by Jatiya Party Jafar Group leader Ahsan Habib Lincoln on social media.
The press conference was held from the Upazila BNP party office on Thursday afternoon. In a written statement at the crowded press conference, Upazila BNP General Secretary Khandaker Tipu Sultan said, On June 7, Jatiya Party Kazi Jafar Group leader Ahsan Habib Lincoln participated in the funeral prayer of former Upazila BNP president Late Alhaj Abdul Haque. Before the funeral, he was allowed to give a speech to shed light on some incidents in the life of Late Haque, but instead of giving a speech related to the funeral, he has seriously violated party discipline by speaking against the constitution of another party unnecessarily with the aim of saving personal interests. Instead of immediately protesting in the interest of our party, former MP of Kushtia-2 (Mirpur-Bheramara) constituency, former President of Kushtia District BNP and one of the members of the BNP National Executive Committee, public leader, freedom fighter Alhaj Professor Shahidul Islam responded to some of Ahsan Habib Lincoln’s words while discussing the biography of the late BNP leader Alhaj Abdul Haque and urged him to refrain from such lies. Thousands of leaders and activists of the huge organization remained silent, satisfied with that.
Later, once again, unwanted leader Ahsan Habib Lincoln used such language to cover up his organizational incompetence by spreading fabricated, baseless, purposefully motivated, provocative and false information against former MP, public leader, freedom fighter Alhaj Professor Shahidul Islam from his own Facebook page on 18/06/2025. Which has led to millions of people of Mirpur-Bheramara mobilizing to take necessary action against all BNP leaders and activists Ahsan Habib Lincoln. Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP Mirpur Upazila and Municipal Branches decided in an emergency meeting that if Ahsan Habib Lincoln does not express his regret for the incident immediately, he will be rejected from Mirpur-Bheramara Upazila for such unwanted, false, baseless, provocative, purposefully fabricated statements.
It is worth noting that in the interest of the alliance, Ahsan Habib Lincoln was elected with a paddy sheaf, the symbol of the life of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, in 2018. In that, on the instructions of the three-time MP of Mirpur-Bheramara, Nayaner Moni, the freedom fighter and public leader, Alhaj Professor Shahidul Islam, thousands of BNP leaders and activists voted for him with a paddy sheaf. He has not come to the area for a long 7 years since the election. He did not even cooperate in the case filed against thousands of BNP leaders and activists on the orders of the then dictator Hasina, nor did he inquire about any BNP leader or activist who was a victim of the case. Lincoln’s defamatory and defamatory statements and behavior against the leader of this huge organization are not befitting. We strongly condemn and protest against his such provocative and false statements. Upazila BNP President Ashrafuzzaman Shaheen, Organizing Secretary Enamul Haque Babu, Municipal BNP President Abdur Rashid, former General Secretary Ibrahim Ali, Joint Convener Hafizur Rahman Babu and others were present at the time.
