Gopalganj :: In recognition of his special contribution to journalism, FM Mahabub Sultan, a journalist from Kotalipara, Gopalganj and president of the Upazila Press Club, has been awarded the ‘Star Bangladesh Award 2025’.
The award was presented at a colorful event at the Segunbagichar Kachi Katha Auditorium in the capital on Saturday (June 28) at 5:30 pm.
The event was organized by Star Bangladesh Media and Bangladesh Mofusal Journalists Society.
This year, in addition to journalism, 30 distinguished individuals were honored for their contributions to IT, real estate, exports, health management, human rights, branding, women’s leadership, culture and social service.
Former chairman Syed Margub Morshed presided over the event. Popular film actors Subrata, Emon and renowned vocalist Farida Parveen were present as the chief guests. The overall supervision was provided by Achifur Rahman and Abul Basha Jiban.
Journalist Mahbub Sultan said about the award,
“Any recognition undoubtedly increases the motivation for work. However, I do journalism to achieve people’s rights. I see this profession not just as a job, but as a responsibility towards society and the country.”
It is worth noting that Mahbub Sultan is the son of the late FM Sultan, a prominent contractor of Kotalipara.
