In a bid to protect environmental balance and raise public awareness on the importance of tree plantation, the Hands Together Initiatives (HTI), a non-political, voluntary, and social organization formed by nursing students from across the Rajshahi Division, organized a large-scale tree planting and sapling distribution program in Rajshahi city.
The event was inaugurated on 7th August 2025, Thursday at 11:00 AM at Polimati Square, near the C&B Mor area, with Md. Reza Hasan, Chief Executive Officer of the Rajshahi District Council, serving as the chief guest. Special guests included A.K.M. Anwar Hossain, Assistant Engineer of the Rajshahi District Council, and Alif Mahmud, Advisor to HTI.
Under the leadership of HTI President and Registered Nurse (BNMC) Md. Nahid Hossain, and with the active participation of nursing students Mahim, Faria, Suraiya, Kohinur, Sumaiya, Oishi, Ashik, Omio, Soikot, and Saif, the organization distributed 250 fruit-bearing and medicinal saplings to members of the public. The saplings included mango, hog plum, olive, jackfruit, elephant apple, guava, mahogany, and arjun trees.
Speaking on the occasion, organizers highlighted the urgent need to restore green coverage and encourage community involvement in environmental conservation.
