Effective Partnerships Key to Tackling Climate Challenges: Environment AdvisorSyeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources, has said that effective and coordinated partnerships are essential to address the climate challenges Bangladesh is facing. She emphasized that aligning national priorities with development partners’ support is crucial for achieving climate resilience and sustainable development.
The Adviser made these remarks while speaking at a meeting held today at the Ministry with ADB officials regarding the Bangladesh Climate Development Partnership (BCDP) and the development of its official website.
Highlighting that Bangladesh is among the most climate-vulnerable countries, she underscored the need for stronger collaboration in financing, capacity building, and technology transfer. Our development goals must go hand in hand with environmental protection and climate adaptation. Without a joint approach, the risks will outweigh the progress, she said. She also suggested incorporating Bangladesh’s mitigation and adaptation activities into the BCDP Website.
