Lalmonirhat :: 15 Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have taken strict security measures at the Lalmonirhat border on the occasion of the Sharadiya Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of traditional Hindus. Patrols at the puja mandap have been strengthened along with the deployment of additional members in the border area.
Lieutenant Colonel Mehedi Imam, commander of 15 BGB, visited the Durakuti Dakshinpara Durga Temple in Mogalhat Union of the district headquarters on Monday afternoon. At that time, he said that special patrols are being conducted in the border area along with regular patrols. People moving around are being monitored round the clock. BGB striking forces have been deployed to celebrate the puja without any hindrance. They are also visiting various temples along with patrols.
He also said that the BGB is working to maintain law and order and a peaceful environment during the festival. This year, Durga Puja is being held in a total of 145 temples in Lalmonirhat district, one of the closest border areas of the country.
Lieutenant Colonel Mehedi Imam said, “BGB is always committed to protecting national peace, security and sovereignty. BGB is working in coordination with local administration and law enforcement agencies to ensure that the people can celebrate the autumn Durga Puja without any hindrance and in a peaceful environment.”
He further said that in addition to establishing a three-tier security zone, immediate action is being taken by collecting information through a special security app. He also mentioned that the BGB is always vigilant.
