Golam Mowla, Shibchar (Madaripur):: A discussion meeting on the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s (BNP) 31-point program and upcoming election preparation was held in Shibchar, Madaripur.
The meeting took place on Saturday (October 4) afternoon at the field of Sarkarer Char High School under the initiative of the Baheratala South Union unit of the BNP.
The event was presided over by the former president of the Baheratala South Union BNP and conducted by Jasimuddin Mridha, former joint general secretary of Shibchar Upazila Jubo Dal. The chief guest was Kamal Zaman (Nuruddin) Molla — former vice-president of Madaripur District BNP, former convener of Shibchar Upazila BNP, and newly elected member of Shibchar Upazila BNP. The special guest was Shahjahan (Saju) Molla, newly elected joint convener of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
In his speech, chief guest Kamal Zaman Molla said,
> “I call upon everyone to work unitedly for whoever the party nominates as a candidate. It is time to set aside personal differences and work together for the sake of the party and the country.”
Special guest Shahjahan (Saju) Molla said,
> “The people will choose their preferred candidate, Insha’Allah. We want a Bangladesh where citizens can express their opinions freely, where the rule of law prevails, and where the living standards of farmers, workers, and all professional groups improve. Restoring the people’s right to vote is BNP’s main objective.”
Among others present were central leader of JASAS (BNP’s cultural wing) Moshiur Rahman; former organizational secretary of Shibchar Upazila BNP Azmal Hossain Selim Khan; newly elected member of Shibchar Upazila BNP Shahidul Islam (Shahid Chairman); Mahbub Madbar; joint convener of the Nationalist Women’s Party Nargis Akter; Shibchar Upazila BNP leader Tajuddin Molla; and other leaders and activists of the BNP and its associate bodies.
