Md. Sanaullah Riyad, Barguna:: The prize distribution ceremony of the ‘English Speech Contest 2025’ was held at the Barguna Press Club auditorium on Saturday (October 25).
The competition, jointly organized by Champion Spoken English Academy and Science and Education Youth Foundation, was held and the prizes were given to the winners.
The chief guest at the event was Advocate Sohel Hafiz, President of Barguna Press Club.
The special guests were Abu Zafar Md. Saleh, General Secretary of the Press Club, Zakir Hossain Miraj, former President of the Press Club, and Nani Gopal Bepari, Lecturer of the English Department of Barguna Government Women’s College.
Among others, Champion Spoken English Academy Director Md. Baki Billah, Science and Education Youth Foundation President Ehsan Ahmad Noman, teachers, students and guardians.
In the competition held in two categories, Simvian Arshi and Juairia Afrin won first place in Category ‘A’, Tahmidul Haque Abi won second place, and Md. Jawad Al Zarif and Tasneem Tabassum won third place.
On the other hand, in Category ‘B’, Subah Tabassum Oishi won first place, Syeda Khadija Jannat won second place, and Hanna Kazi and Sadia won third place.
On the other hand, Zahid Hawlader won the chess tournament, 1st runner-up Ehsan Ahmad Noman, 2nd runner-up Mohiuddin Apu won.
The speakers at the event said that such competitions help students improve their fluency, confidence and expression in English. They urged to continue this initiative in the future.
Finally, the guests presented the winners with gifts including crests and books.
