Moshiur Rahman Khan, Joypurhat:: An English debate competition was held in Joypurhat on Friday afternoon (February 7, 2026) under the initiative of MR English Institute, with the participation of students from various schools across the district.
The event was organized by Moshiur Rahman Khan, Director of MR English Institute. The panel of judges included Md. Harunur Rashid, Assistant Professor at Joypurhat B.Ed. College; Kamrun Nahar, Principal of Gopinathpur BM College; and Khan Moshiur Rahman, Director of the institute.
The competition was moderated by Rubaiya, a ninth-grade student of Joypurhat Government Girls’ High School.
Participants included Najat (Class Seven) and Shaikh (Class Eight) from Ramdeo Bajla Government High School; Rahnuma Hur (Class Seven), Sohana and Payel (Class Seven), and Saba (Class Eight) from Joypurhat Government Girls’ High School; Silva (Class Nine) from North Bengal School and College; and Tanzim (Class Eight) from Sadar Thana.
Special guest Rilia, a trainee lawyer of the Joypurhat Judge Court, was also present at the event. In addition, local dignitaries along with journalists from electronic and print media attended the program.
A lively and enthusiastic atmosphere was observed among the participating students and audience members who came from different schools. People from all walks of life in the district highly appreciated this educational and constructive initiative, considering it a positive step toward enhancing students’ communication skills and intellectual development.
