Neon Dulal, Lalmonirhat :: A press conference was held at the district level in Lalmonirhat to implement the upcoming “Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign-2026” to protect children from measles-rubella disease.
The conference was organized on Sunday (April 19) at 3 pm at the conference room of the Civil Surgeon’s Office, Lalmonirhat.
Lalmonirhat Civil Surgeon Dr. Abdul Hakim was present as the chief guest at the press conference. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Md. Rakibul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Shahadat Hossain Susa and District Information Officer Soumik Roy were also present.
The speakers said that measles and rubella are serious infectious diseases that pose a serious risk to children. The government has taken up a nationwide vaccination program to prevent this disease. Necessary preparations have been made to bring all children of the specified age group under this campaign in Lalmonirhat district.
The health department informed that during the campaign, children will be vaccinated free of cost at various vaccination centers in 5 upazilas of the district. Parents are urged to bring their children to the vaccination centers as per the scheduled schedule.
In response to questions from journalists, the speakers said that the administration, health department, law enforcement, and media will work together to make this program a success.
