M Rezaul Islam Naogaon: Non-governmental organization Naogaon Economic and Social Development Corporation (NESDO) in Manda in Naogaon is missing about 5 crore rupees from its customers. In protest, the affected members made a human chain at the Prasadpur Bazar intersection and in front of the Upazila Cooperative Officer’s office around 11 o’clock on Monday.
Victims of the human chain said that a non-governmental organization called Naogaon Economic and Social Development Organization (NESDO) had been operating lending activities in Deluabari Bazar for several years.
There are branches of this organization in different places of the upazila. Hundreds of simple people in the village have deposited billions of rupees in the trap of high profits. On January 2, after stopping all the activities of the organization, the officers and employees of the organization went missing with about 5 crore rupees in the night.
Victim member Abdur Razzak said I saved 5 lakhs and got some money. Now I hear they locked the office and ran away. I have called the office sirs but the phone is off. I don’t know what to do. Shahida Begum said that 6 months ago I deposited 1.5 lakh rupees and still not received a single rupee. The day before yesterday, I heard that the office had been locked in the middle of the night. Parveen says I deposit 80000 taka, got 5000 taka, don’t understand what will happen now.
At the end of the human chain, the victim members submitted a memorandum to the Upazila Executive Officer.
