Shibchar, Madaripur – A workers’ rally organized by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) was held in Shibchar on Saturday, September 13, at 4:00 PM. The event, hosted by the BNP’s Dwitiyo Khanda unit along with its front and affiliated organizations, drew hundreds of leaders and activists from different unions of Shibchar, creating a festive atmosphere.
The rally was presided over by Dadon Molla, former president of Shibchar Upazila Krishak Dal, while Kazi Khokhonuzzaman conducted the proceedings. BNP nomination aspirant from Shibchar, Kaman Zaman Nuruddin Molla, attended as the chief guest.
Among others present on stage were former commissioner Shahadat Hossain Khan, joint conveners of Upazila BNP Sajahan (Saju Molla) and Shahidul Islam, district BNP joint conveners Sorhab Howlader and Mojibur Rahman, district BNP member Atikur Rahman, former organizational secretary of Shibchar Upazila BNP Azmal Hossain Selim Khan, former general secretary of Upazila Jubo Dal Saiduzzaman Jamal Bepari, and BNP leader Tajuddin Molla, along with several other leaders of BNP and its associate bodies.
Speaking at the rally, Shibchar Municipality Chhatra Dal convener Sayyed Hasan Sihab criticized the recent DUCSU election, alleging irregularities. “Islami Chhatra Shibir rigged the votes to secure victory in the DUCSU polls. We strongly condemn and protest this,” he said.
In his address, chief guest Kaman Zaman Nuruddin Molla stressed the importance of grassroots mobilization ahead of the upcoming national election. “A deep conspiracy is being plotted against us. If BNP is to secure victory in the next election, our workers must reach every household across villages and towns, and seek votes for the Sheaf of Paddy,” he urged.
