Haldhar Das, Narsingdi – Aduri Garment workers of Thermex Group have blocked the Dhaka-Sylhet highway demanding payment of three months overtime and arrears of salary and bonus. On Sunday (June 30), they laid siege in front of the factory in Shibpur upazila on the highway from 3:30 p.m. Meanwhile, fire was set on the road with wooden furniture. This caused traffic congestion in the Dhaka-Sylhet highway area.
Almost thousands of male and female workers of the organization claim that the authorities have not paid the overtime dues for the last three months. Even before Eid, he gave and did not pay it. Rather, the workers are being laid off on various pretexts when they demand payment of arrears.
