Police recovered the idol weighing eleven and a half kg.
Police and locals said Shaheen saw the idol while digging soil in his betel nut garden last fortnight. Shaheen hides the statue at home thinking it is a precious stone. Later, the police recovered the idol from his house early this morning after receiving information from the local residents.
Abdul Quader, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said that a general diary has been made regarding the recovery of the statue. Legal action will be taken later.
