Kushtia Correspondent- Police have arrested 5 people while preparing for a robbery on the road in Mirpur, Kushtia. Ramda and a knife were recovered from them and a motor-driven Nasimon was seized.
Late on Friday night, the upazila’s Kakiladah Fari police conducted a raid at a place called Galakata between the Radhanagar-Dargapara Gami Road and arrested them.
The arrested members of the robber gang are Kibria Munshi (27) of Bamanpara area of Meherpur Sadar Police Station, Joynal Abedin (23) of Radhakantapur area, Ashiq (21), Sujan Mia (20) of Chakshyamnagar area and Golam Sarwar (24) of Rajapur area. In addition, two local robbers managed to escape in the incident. A case has been filed with Mirpur Police Station in this regard.
The plaintiff in the case, Kakiladah Fari in-charge Tahmudul Islam, said that on the basis of secret information, he came to know that a group of robbers were preparing to rob on the road with weapons. On receiving such information, the police force conducted a raid at a place called Galakata between Radhanagar-Dargapara Gami Road. At that time, sensing the presence of the police, two members of the robber group fled and caught 5 robbers red-handed.
The arrested were handed over to the police station that night. A case has been filed in the name of 7 people in this incident. Officer-in-charge of Mirpur Police Station Mominul Islam said that 5 robbers have been arrested in the police raid. He said that efforts are underway to arrest the rest.
