S M Kamrul Islam Chattgaram:: A Quran recitation competition and prize distribution ceremony was held on the occasion of the Ichal Sawab of all the deceased on the initiative of the devotees of Ghatfarhadbeg Atarjan Jame Mosque and the youth society of the area.
On Friday, September 25, after Isha, under the chairmanship of Mohammad Ilias Sardar and the direction of Maulana Morshed, the event was organized with Abu Sufian, MP of Chittagong-9 constituency, as the chief guest.
Abdul Mannan, President of Teribazar Traders Association, Belayet Hossain, Chairman of the Advisory Council of Teribazar Traders Association, and BNP leader Anwar Hossain Lipu, were present as special guests at the event.
Also present were Dr. Abdul Wadud, Lokman Hossain, Anwar and other dignitaries and devotees of the area.
The chief judge of the Quran recitation competition was Hafez Maulana Mamunur Rashid, an Arabic lecturer at Keranihat Jameul Uloom Fazil Madrasa.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Abu Sufian MP said that in order to eradicate drugs and juvenile gangs from the society, the young generation must be involved in religious and moral education. For this, such Quran recitation competitions should be organized regularly in every mosque in the society.
He said that through such events, religious values, morality and social responsibility will be awakened among children, adolescents and the youth.
At the end of the event, prizes were distributed among the winners of the Quran recitation competition. At this time, the organizers expressed their determination to continue such religious and social activities in the future.
