Lalmonirhat – 15 Border Guard Battalion (BGB) arrested a drug dealer named Fajar Ali (35) along with 361 bottles of Indian Scuff Syrup in Kaliganj border area of Lalmonirhat.
BGB informed this information in a press release on Saturday morning. The detained Fajr Ali is the son of Azahar Ali of Dulali area of Kaliganj upazila.
According to BGB, the drug smugglers will be smuggled near the responsible border pillar 919/9-S of Lohakuchi BOP of Kaliganj upazila on Saturday morning. Based on such information, the patrol led by Lohakuchi BOP Commander at approximately 4 am, approximately 20 yards from border pillar 919/9-S of Kaliganj upazila inside Bangladesh.
At a place called Dulali, the BGB started gaining ground. Later, at around 4:30 am, the BGB patrol, according to sources, saw 01 drug smuggler coming and challenged him, but when he tried to run away, the patrol caught him with 361 bottles of Indian Scuff Syrup.
Acting Captain of Lalmonirhat 15 BGB Battalion Major Md. Asiful Islam Siddiqui confirmed the truth of the incident and said that after filing a case against the arrested drug dealer, the accused and seized 361 bottles of Indian Scuff Syrup were handed over to Kaliganj Police Station.
