Kushtia – A protest march and human chain by people from all walks of life was held in Mirpur, Kushtia demanding withdrawal of transfer order of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Bibi Karimunnesa.
The protest march started from Mirpur Police Station at 3 pm on Monday and ended in front of the main gate of the Upazila Parishad. Thousands of people were present in the procession.
At this time, various festoons and placards held by them were written, attracting the attention of the Chief Advisor, why transfer in the interest of an individual? The administration wants an answer, where there is corruption in tenders, there is mass resistance, tender manipulation and extortion must be stopped, illegal interference in government work must be stopped, activities that damage reputation must be stopped, the transfer order of honest, fair and corruption-free Upazila Nirbahi Officer Bibi Karimunnesa must be withdrawn immediately.
Later, a human chain was held in front of the Upazila Parishad. There, the general public, holding various placards and festoons, strongly demanded the withdrawal of the UNO transfer order. In their speeches, the general public said that Upazila Executive Officer Bibi Karimunnesa has distributed thousands of blankets to the cold-stricken people during the winter.
In addition, she personally inspected various development works in the upazila and handed over the work bills. And she has been carrying out any government activities in a regular manner. In the meantime, she has set an example by showing honesty and integrity in the upazila. The speakers also said that if she did not have the qualifications and honesty, so many people would not have come out on the streets for her.
In order to free Mirpur Upazila from tender scammers, extortionists and terrorism, the transfer of Mirpur Upazila Executive Officer Bibi Karimunnesa must be withdrawn immediately. The speakers also said that recently, a vested interest group has been spreading propaganda against her by claiming that the monthly meeting of the upazila is a meeting with the Awami League as per government rules. The speakers strongly protested against this.
They drew the attention of the Deputy Commissioner and Chief Advisor that he should be reinstated in Mirpur Upazila immediately
