Neon Dulal, Lalmonirhat :: The central committee of the Bangladesh Engineering Department Employees Association held an impromptu press briefing in Lalmonirhat ahead of the triennial election of the Bangladesh Railway Welfare Trust.
At a press briefing held in the Lalmonirhat Railway area on Sunday (June 21), support was announced for Saidur Rahman, the worker representative candidate, in the upcoming elections to be held on June 29.
In a press briefing, Nasir Uddin Faruk, central president of Bangladesh Engineering Department Employees Association, said that Saidur Rahman has been working for a long time to protect the welfare, rights and interests of railway officials and employees. He called for his election as a worker representative considering his experience and leadership qualities.
Central General Secretary Mohammad Shaheen said that Saidur Rahman has no alternative to make the welfare trust’s activities more dynamic and employee-friendly. He requested voters from all levels of the railway to support him in the upcoming elections.
A large number of officials and employees of the engineering, installation, accounting and security departments of the Lalmonirhat Railway Division were present at the time. After the press briefing, the central leaders went to various departments of the railway to exchange views with voters and sought votes for Saidur Rahman.
It is worth noting that the triennial election of Bangladesh Railway Welfare Trust will be held on June 29. In this election, a total of six candidates are contesting against three posts in three groups – ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’. The candidates’ campaigning and communication activities with voters have already been intensified in view of the election.
